Of course, the screenings don’t accurately indicate the existence of cancer of not; for that we have another method of detection known as the prostate biopsy, sometimes complemented with the prostate mapping, the radionuclide bones scans, the nomgram and the coaxial tomography to find out just how far advanced is the tumor, that is if cancer id diagnosed. The TNM and Whitmore-Jewett systems are used for staging the cancer and the Gleason scale to grade it; depending on the stage and grade, the doctors can prescribe a treatment method.



One, less active, method of treatment, recommended mostly for aged men over seventy, is the watchful waiting or the expectant management, standing at the borderline of both the conventional and alternative treatments options for prostate cancer; it involves the study of the tumor progression without interfering by prescribing any type of treatment or a strict diet.

The prostate surgery is the most recommended treatments option when the tumor is still organ-confided, but the prostatectomy also involves high risks such as the local bleeding, which can be avoided with the help of the alternative treatment options such as the nutritional diet, recommended before and after the operation: products with B-complex vitamin, C vitamin, zinc, bioflavonoids and proteins and vitamin A; after surgery add to your diet bromelain, small doses of vitamin E and curcumin.

There are two types of tumors: benign and malignant and only the latter is responsible for cancer; other prostate disorders such as the prostatitis and the benign prostatic hyperplasia, also know as the enlargement of the prostate, can allow the development of cancer if they are not treated; in most cases the early symptoms of cancer are not evident but since each cancer is unique, this uniqueness also depends on the patient’s general health.
