In this day of age more and more people suffer from different diseases, to which a cure may or may have not been discovered yet. One may say that the days we live in are sad. One of the most outspread type of diseases in what regards men is what is called prostate cancer. From what we know prostate cancer is actually a form of cancer that develops in the prostate, in the male reproductive system. Those cancer cells may spread from the prostate to other parts of the body, such as the bones. This type of cancer may cause pain, and even difficulty in urinating, other problems during sexual intercourse. Different symptoms can develop and appear during later stages of the disease.
Statistics have shown that prostate cancers vary widely across the world, being more frequent in Europe, and especially the United States. Another very important characteristic of this cancer being that this type of cancer tends to develop in men over the age of fifty, and even though a man may suffer from it many never have symptoms, undergo no therapy, and eventually die of other causes.

Throughout the years medics and researchers have found out what types of signs and symptoms this type of cancer can have. In early stages prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. But some times symptoms can appear. These new symptoms may include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty in standing and maintaining a steady stream of urine, also blood in the urine and very encountered is pain during urination. This type of cancer is associated with urinary dysfunction as the prostate gland surrounds the prostatic urethra, the medics have informed us. The changes that occur within the gland, therefore, directly affect urinary function. An important fact is that the causes for cancer have remain unknown. It being related to age, genetics, race and diets.
Medics and researchers have tried to find different treatments for this type of cancer. The treatment for prostate cancer may involve
monitoring for tumor progress or symptoms, surgery, addition therapy including external beam radiation therapy, also chemotherapy oral chemotherapeutic ,drugs and sometimes even combinations of those treatments. However we have to have in mind that the selection of treatment options may be a complex decision involving many factors. One of these factors being , radical prostatectomy after primary radiation failure is a very technically challenging surgery and may not be an option. This being a factor that will enter into the treatment decision.Statistics have shown that it is the most common type of cancer in men in the United States, with 186,000 new cases in 2008 and 28,600 deaths. It is also the second leading cause of cancer death in U.S. men after lung cancer. In the United Kingdom it is also the second most common cause of cancer death after lung cancer, where around 35,000 cases are diagnosed every year and of which around 10,000 die of it.
So , prostate cancer is to put it this way and emerging diseases that does not announce its presence ut throughout time it becomes to e felt. It remains to us to make something to prevent the statistics from growing even more.
